Practice of Gratitude

November 2022

Dear Friends,

“We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.” – Thornton Wilder

We have the choice to connect, to practice wellbeing, to know belonging, and to love through our everyday attention, intention, and awareness. We are wired to care for and connect with each other. At the table of thanks-giving, we can feed one another through peace and wellbeing grown in the garden of gratitude.

While the world is a busy place filled with uncertainty, and people of all ages, demographics, and geographies are suffering and struggling, we can each work to build inner capacity and resilience. This is the calling of our time -- daily spiritual hygiene and fitness, and a commitment to individual and collective growth founded in connection, wellbeing, and belonging.

A great place to start is by finding simple things to be grateful for. People who consciously count their blessings tend to be happier, healthier, and less depressed. It can unshackle us from toxic emotions and has lasting effects on the brain! Gratitude can be in response to something gifted to us -- from someone in our lives, nature, a higher power, or even the universe. In today’s world, we are starving in conflict, divisiveness, and isolation. It is a powerful choice to turn away from the mindset of selfishness, and instead feed others (even those with whom we disagree) with kindness, consideration, gratitude, and understanding if we are going to survive and thrive.

How can you bring more moments of gratitude into your life? I for one am beyond grateful for the discoveries in science that support the importance of our relationship with the divine – intelligent loving consciousness. Knowing we are innately interconnected, and part of a loving consciousness gives each of us the permission to Lead with Love and know it’s in everyone’s best interest to do so. It is through that spiritual impulse that each of us have the capacity to seek gratitude in our daily lives, loving and appreciating the incredible gifts in life that surround us.

I’m grateful for a couple events we have coming up to celebrate the indomitable human spirit! Our founder Gina Murdock & her husband are bringing a very special guest to the next Murdock Mind, Body, Spirit series this Wednesday. We have a special code just for our readers if you’d like to attend & be inspired. And, on Dec 6, we are delighted to be hosting a digital series with renowned scientist Dr. Lisa Miller who we hosted this summer. Please click the links below to join in community with us.

Sending Gratitude to our Lead with Love community~
